Responding to the devastation caused by the earthquake in Haiti, Catholics in the Diocese of St. Petersburg have contributed over $1.2 million in special collections in support of Catholic Relief Services (CRS) relief efforts in Haiti.  This more than quadruples the initial $250,000 contribution sent by Bishop Lynch on behalf of the people of the diocese in the days immediately following the earthquake.

Bishop Lynch continues to ask that we unite our prayers with those of and in support of the Hatian people as they continue to grieve the damage to their homeland and begin to rebuild their lives and homes.

For more information, please view the press release.

We further invite you to read Bishop Lynch's blog post "HELP HAITI NOW", or these posts about our diocesan support for relief efforts.

For more information about the local response, please visit Catholic Charities Haiti web page.

Bishop Lynch Publishes Supplement to Pastoral Letter
Living Eucharist: Gathered, Nourished, Sent

The Most Rev. Robert Lynch, Bishop of St. Petersburg, has issued a Supplement to his 2007 Pastoral Letter, Living Eucharist: Gathered, Nourished, Sent.

In his letter, Bishop Lynch reflects on the final portion of the three-fold Living Eucharist initiative: "Sent".  As Catholics, we are a Eucharistic community of believers who are “sent” into the world rooted in our baptism, nourished by the Word of God, and transformed by His Body and Blood to bring the Good News to all whom we encounter.
